Overview
Kyushu is Japan's southernmost main island, warmer and more relaxed than Honshu. It's a land of volcanoes — active Sakurajima looming over Kagoshima, the 'hells' of Beppu, and terraced Kurokawa onsen. Fukuoka serves the best tonkotsu ramen in the country and is a food capital in its own right.
